Oxidation / Disinfection - Ultraviolet (UV) Light

UV light can be utilised in the purification of water in the following ways. It can be used to split organic compounds into smaller fragments (photo-oxidation) to then facilitate removal by ion exchange and adsorption. Alternatively, UV can be used to disrupt the DNA of micro-organisms to inactivate them (disinfection).

The photo-oxidation and disinfection properties of UV are used within a variety of Purite products including the self contained laboratory products listed below, as well as in the design of bespoke systems for healthcare, research and industrial use.
