PURITE WATER PURIFIER OFFERS COST-EFFECTIVE MEANS OF ACHIEVING HTM2030/C30 COMPLIANT WATER FOR WASHER DISINFECTORS |
|
Purite, the leading UK manufacturer of water purification systems, has launched a compact water purification unit that offers hospitals a simple and consistent supply of purified water for use with bench-top washer disinfectors, in order to comply with HTM2030/C30 standards. The unit pre-treats mains water before feeding it through a Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane. Rejected impurities are flushed away in a drain stream, while the purified water is then irradiated with UV light at 254nm to destroy any residual bacteria. The unit features an internal 15 litre storage tank, in which the purified water is stored and then distributed to the washer disinfector or a distribution ring main. The Purite system saves time and resources by automating a number of functions through microprocessor control. The water quality and tempe rature are constantly monitored with alarms being activated if pre-set parameters are exceeded. For simplicity of use, the control system also prompts users to replace any consumables that are due to be changed, such as the filter, cartridge pack and UV lamp. To maintain performance and maximise efficiency, any unused water is re-circulated back to the Integra Mini unit, where it is filtered through a 0.2µm filter, which can be easily replaced via the front of the unit. All external hydraulic and electrical connections are positioned at the rear of the unit. To ensure that a high level of water quality is consistently achieved, the RO modules are fitted with both permeate and concentrate flush valves, which operate automatically every time the unit starts up or during periods of standby operation.
