These filters are used in a variety of ways for the purification of water including
pre-treatment and polishing duties. Purite offer a variety of different filters:

Sand / Multimedia Filters

These contain layers of different grades of sand, gravel and adsorption media and are used to remove coarse particulates in the range of 10 - 40 microns. The most common use is for the
pre-treatment of water.

Cartridge Filters

These disposable cartridges are typically constructed from polypropylene fibres and are available in a variety of nominal ratings from 1 - 100 microns. They operate at approximately 90% efficiency and are generally used for pre-treatment of water.

Bacterial Filters

The pore sizes on these filters are designed to remove bacteria and bacterial endotoxins between 0.45 and 0.1 microns. They carry an absolute rating and operate at greater than 99% efficiency and are generally used to filter water that has already been purified.
